Bun B’s Trill Burgers Opens Its Fourth Houston Location — With a Drive-Thru Until 3 A.M.
Let me tell you about Bernard Freeman. Four Houston-area restaurants, a burger that *Good Morning America* once named the best in America, and a drive-thru that now runs until 3 a.m. — that is the résumé he has built under the name Bun B.
Hip-hop gave Bun B a life; he has spent the last several years turning that life into a business. And not a vanity one. Trill Burgers is a real, growing, multi-location restaurant company in one of America’s greatest food cities — and it is still expanding.
The Work
On Friday, September 25, 2026, Trill Burgers opened its fourth Houston-area location at 7616 Westheimer Road, just west of the Galleria. It is the brand’s first store with late-night hours: initial daily service runs 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and beginning in October the drive-thru will stay open until 3 a.m. Friday through Sunday. The 3,100-square-foot restaurant seats 70 guests and features a wraparound drive-thru and a custom “Be Someone Trill” mural — a nod to the famous “Be Someone” street art painted on a railroad bridge over Interstate 45 near downtown.
The menu is the one that made Trill Burgers one of Houston’s buzziest burger destinations: the signature OG Burger (two smashed all-beef patties, caramelized onions, Trill Sauce, American cheese and pickles on a potato roll), a Vegan OG, Triple OG and kids’ meals, plus seasoned Trill Fries, fresh-squeezed Trill Lemonade and thick Trill Shakes.
It is a long way from 2022, when *Good Morning America* named Trill Burgers the best burger in America. The brand opened its first brick-and-mortar in 2023 at Shepherd Drive and Richmond Avenue in Montrose, added a second location north of Houston in Spring in April 2025, and a third in Missouri City in December 2025.
The Roots
Bun B is a Houston institution. Born in the city and forged into one of Southern rap’s defining voices as one half of UGK, he has been synonymous with Houston culture for decades. Trill Burgers began as a pop-up — the kind of side project that could have stayed a novelty — and instead became a full restaurant business with four locations and a growing team. The Westheimer store’s mural is a deliberate love letter to the city that made him.
Why You Should Know Him
Bun B is proving that the ownership economy is not a side hustle for artists — it can be the main event. Trill Burgers keeps its money, its jobs and its late-night energy in Houston, and it has scaled from a pop-up to a four-location operation without leaving home. In a food city that takes burgers seriously, that says everything.
